It is very easy to reach Leysin by road, rail and air. 

 

Low cost airlines - the website for Attitude Travel has links for 17 low cost airlines flying to Switzerland.  Skyscanner is another good source for flights.  The closest airport is Geneva from where rail or road is quick and easy (there are 16 trains each day from Geneva Airport to Aigle that connect with the mountain train to Leysin).

 

Swiss Trains - Swiss trains are extremely reliable and very convenient from Geneva and Zurich Airports (in both cases the station is in the airport).  Take the train via Lausanne to Aigle, and change to the mountain railway up to Leysin (see guide to connections below)

 

International Trains

For international train travel The Man in Seat Sixty-One is a great source of information.

  • There are earlier, later and intermediate trains between Geneva and Aigle (taxis and hotels).

  • There are several hotels near the Airport (5 min free shuttle bus), the Hotel Ibis has double rooms from CHF99 (£44) per night.

  • A normal single from Geneva Airport to Leysin is CHF42.60 (£18). 

  • Train tickets can be purchased in advance, at the ticket office,     automatic machine, or on the train (small supplement).  There are various discount rail passes.
